Privacy policy

gameweek38 shows football league tables, form, fixtures and movement charts. It has no accounts, no sign-in and no forms, so there is nothing to hand it and nothing it stores about you under a name.

What data there is comes from two places: the ordinary business of a web server answering your request, and the two pieces of third-party code the site loads. This page says what each of those does, as plainly as we can manage. It covers gameweek38.com and everything served under it.

What this site collects

Directly, nothing. There is no account to create, no newsletter, no comments, no contact form, and — since the coming-soon page came down on 23 August 2026 — no field anywhere on the site to type into. Nothing about you is asked for, so nothing about you is stored.

Automatically, the same as any website. The site is hosted by Vercel, and Vercel’s servers receive your request in order to answer it. That request carries your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, the page you asked for and the time you asked for it. Through the code the site loads. Two third parties receive something simply by being loaded — Google AdSense and Vercel’s analytics — and each has its own section below. There is nothing else. In particular the typeface is served from this site’s own files rather than from Google Fonts, which is a change made on 23 August 2026: until then, loading any page here — this one included — sent your IP address to Google before a word of it rendered. It no longer does, and nothing has replaced it.

gameweek38 is a general-audience site about football. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

The Instagram and X links in the site’s footer are ordinary links. Following one takes you to that company’s site, which is governed by its policy and not by this one.

Cookies and local storage

gameweek38 sets no cookies of its own. It stores one thing in your browser’s local storage, it stays on your device, it is never transmitted anywhere, and it does not identify you:

• gw38:theme — whether you chose the light or dark theme.

There were two until 23 August 2026. The other, gw38.admin, was set only by entering the passphrase on the coming-soon page; that page and its passphrase are gone, and nothing now writes or reads the key. If your browser still holds one from before, it does nothing.

Clearing site data for gameweek38.com removes it. Cookies are set on this site, but by Google’s advertising code rather than by us — see below.

Advertising

The site carries Google AdSense. This privacy page does not: no advertising code is loaded here.

Google and its partners use cookies and similar device identifiers to serve ads, to measure whether they were seen, and — where permitted — to personalise them based on your previous visits to this and other websites. gameweek38 does not receive that data, does not learn who you are from it, and has no access to any profile Google builds. What reaches us is an aggregate report of how the ads performed.

Consent. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, advertising cookies need your consent before they are set. That consent is collected by Google’s own consent message, which appears the first time you visit from one of those regions and offers three choices: consent, do not consent, or manage the individual purposes. It is configured in the AdSense account rather than by code on this site, and what you choose is what tells Google’s partners whether they may personalise anything. Choosing “Do not consent” does not remove the ads; it limits what may be used to pick them. To change your answer later, clear this site’s cookies — the message appears again on your next visit.

In the United States. Visitors in California and a number of other states are shown a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link by the same Google system. Choosing it tells Google and its partners to stop treating what they hold about you as something that may be sold or shared for advertising. Like the consent message above, it is configured in the AdSense account rather than by code on this site, and gameweek38 receives none of the underlying data either way.

Analytics

The site — the pages that show the tables — loads Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. They count page views and record how quickly pages load. This policy page does not load them.

Vercel describes both as cookieless: no cookie is set, no identifier persists between your visits, and nothing follows you to other sites. That is Vercel’s description of its own product rather than something we can verify from here, so if it matters to you, read Vercel’s account of what its analytics collect.

What we do with it: see which leagues and which views people actually use, and whether the site is fast enough. It is a count, not a list of people.

Where the football data comes from

League tables, fixtures and results come from football-data.org.

Your browser never talks to them. The data is fetched ahead of time by a scheduled job, written into this site’s own files, and served to you from there — so football-data.org receives no request from you, never sees your IP address, and has no idea you visited. The data itself is public football results and contains nothing about any visitor.

Your choices

Because nothing here is collected under your name, there is no account to close and nothing for us to look up, export, correct or delete on request. What you can do:

• Clear the local storage. Clearing site data for gameweek38.com removes the two keys listed above.
• Block or clear cookies. Your browser can block third-party cookies, which stops advertising cookies being set or read. It costs you nothing here — no feature on this site depends on a cookie.
• Turn off ad personalisation. Google’s My Ad Center controls how Google personalises ads for you across every site that uses Google’s advertising, not just this one.
• Use an ad or tracker blocker. The site works normally with one running. Every table, filter and chart is drawn in your browser from a data file, so nothing here breaks if the advertising and analytics scripts never load.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to announce it on, so that date is the record. A material change — a new third party, or a new kind of data — will be described here rather than quietly folded in.
